Sketchy Basket Weave Birthday Cake With Royal Icing

Ingredients of Birthday Cake:

3 peak milk tins of flour

15 eggs

1 bag margarine 

1 tbsp baking powder 

1 peak milk tin of sugar 

1 lime


Cream the sugar and margarine till pale. Add the eggs and squeezed lemon. Stir well. Add the baking powder and flour little at a time, stirring till fluffy. Grease the baking pan and pour the batter. Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or till golden brown. Remove from the oven,place on the cake board and allow to cool. 

   Royal Icing Ingredients:

1 1/4 pack icing sugar

3 egg white 

1 tbsp coconut flavour

Food colour (green & pink) 


Whisk egg whites and flavour till foamy. Gradually, add the icing sugar little at a time, stirring. Divide it into two. Rub one part of the icing sugar mixture all over the cake with palette knife and smoothen it. Divide the second part of the icing mixture into two. Add green and pink colour in the icing mixture, stir very well. Pour the icing mixture in two different piping bags. Decorate the way you want using different nozzles.
