Omurice (Japanese rice dish)


1 small cup rice 

Chicken breast (but I used can flake tuna fish) 

4 tbsp ketchup 

3 eggs

5 diced carrots 

2 onions 

Salt to taste 

1 tbsp garlic paste

1 tbsp ground pepper (1/2 tsp for the rice & rice 1/2 for eggs) 

2 tbsp olive oil 


Boil the rice till almost cooked. Wash and strain. 

  Whisk the eggs with some salt and pepper. Set aside. 

    Heat the oil in a pan, add the tuna and fry for a minute. Then add the diced carrots, onions, seasonings and garlic paste. Fry for some minutes. Add the rice little at a time stirring till well mixed. Remove from the fire. Add the ketchup and stir. 

  Fry the eggs in a non stick pan. When the eggs are set, add some of the rice mixture on the fried egg, fold both the sides and turn it upside down in a plate. Garnish with vegetable of your choice and serve.
