Scone is a delicious snack and easy to prepare. It is of different varieties i.e strawberry scones, apple scones, plain scone, etc.
3 small cup of flour
4-5 tbsp margarine
1 tbsp baking powder
3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg for glazing
Seive the flour, salt and baking powder in a medium bowl. Add sugar and mix. Add the margarine and mix until it resembles breadcrumbs. Break the egg and add on the flour mixture. Mix well. Lastly, add liquid milk and mix. Knead to form a soft dough.
Sprinkle some flour on a board. Put the dough on the board. Roll flat with a rolling pin. Cut into wedges and arrange on a greased baking tray. Brush the top with egg wash (1 egg + 1 tbsp water: whisked together). Bake in a moderately hot oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
