Savoury Onion Mini Tart Cups


3 small cups of flour 

1 tbsp yeast 

1 tbsp sugar 

1/2 tsp salt 

3 tbsp olive oil 

1 small cup warm water 

  Filling :

 1/4 kg beef (boiled & cut into small pieces)

5 (diced) onions 

1 tbsp garlic paste 

1 tbsp ginger paste 

2 stock cubes 

Salt to taste 

1 tbsp thyme

1 tsp mixed spices 

1 cooking spoon oil 


Soak the yeast with the warm water. Add the sugar, stir and allow to rise for 5-10 minutes. 

    Śeive the flour in a mixing bowl, add salt and olive oil. Mix well. Pour the yeast and knead to form a soft dough. Cover with a kitchen cloth and keep in a warm place to rise for at least 30-40 minutes. 

    Heat the oil in a pan and fry the ginger and garlic paste for a minute. Add the beef and onions and stir fry till the onions are a bit brown. Add seasonings and spices. Stir fry for few minutes. Remove from the fire and set aside.

    Bring out the dough  punch it to deflate the air in it. Sprinkle some flour on a board and drop the dough on it. Knead for a minute or two. Roll flat with a rolling pin and use a round cutter to cut the dough. 

   Grease the baking tins with some oil. Put the round dough inside the baking tins. Level it well and remove the excess dough. Bake in a moderately preheated oven for 5 minutes. Bring out the tart cups from the oven and add 1-2 tbsp of the filling inside. Return to the oven and bake for 5-10 minutes. 

   Serve with a cool drink.
