Birthday Cake

Ingredients For Vanilla Cake:

1 1/2 cups flour

 1 tbsp baking powder (not full tbsp)

2 tbsp margarine

1 cup sugar

4 eggs

1 small cup liquid milk

1 tsp vanilla flavour

 Method

Cream sugar and margarine till pale. Add eggs, milk, vanilla flavour and blend for some time. Add the flour and baking powder, blend again till there are no lumps. Grease baking pan, pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or till golden brown. Remive from the oven, turn the cake upside down in a tray and allow to cool.

  Ingredients For Chocolate Cake :

1 1/2 cup of flour

1 tsp baking powder

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 cup oil

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 small cup liquid milk

1 tsp vanilla flavour

 Method

Cream sugar and margarine till pale. Add eggs, milk, vanilla flavour and blend. Mix the flour with baking powder and cocoa powder. Gradually, add in the cake mixer and blend till there are no lumps. Grease baking pan and pour the mixture inside. Bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven, turn the cake upside down ina tray or board and allow to cool.

 

  BUTTERCREAM ICING

Ingredients:

1 pack icing sugar 500g

1 bag margarine 

1 tsp vanilla flavour

Colour of your choice

 Method

Cream margarine till pale and double in volume. Add vanilla flavour, icing sugar little at a time, blending till there are no lumps. Add the colour and blend again.

    Turn the cakes and cut the top slightly to level it. The cakes should be of the same size. Stash the board with little of the frosting and put vanilla cake on top of the board. Rub some more of the frosting on top of the vanilla cake. Place the chocolate cake and rub the frosting all over the cakes. Smooth it with palette knife and decorate the way you want.
